24 NovRaphael Sbarge reads Kaidan’s Horizon letter from ‘Mass Effect 2′
You asked for it: Raphael Sbarge voices Kaidan Alenko’s “Horizon” letter from “Mass Effect 2″:
And here’s a thank you from Raphael for your responses:
Hi. This is Raphael Sbarge calling, and we’re about to take down the Kaidan Alenko letter, as it was our, sort of Thanksgiving treat, as it were. Or Thanksgiving gift, I think some people called it.
I just really needed to sort of speak and to say how, frankly, how moved and overwhelmed I am by the amount of response that we had. I mean, thousands, thousands and thousands of hits (Editor’s note: We recorded 21,000 plays just from the site.) – it went viral, the letter. The written notes that we received, just the thank yous – some are hysterically funny, some are just sort of over the moon, and many are just really touching – I just want to say thank you. I’m really knocked out by the response.
This was an idea that came from you, that is, the fans, people who love Mass Effect and love Kaidan. So I, taking your lead, did this little … read this little letter, which seems to have sort of really struck a nerve. Again, I’m really touched about that. I’m also, I so appreciate that BioWare and the writers at BioWare, and some of the producers there have sort of found it, and then decided to kind of both bless it and then pass it along. So thanks for that, thanks to them and for the amazing game that they are in the midst of trying to get all buttoned up and ready to ship. It’s an enormous undertaking and responsibility. They’re feeling, I’m sure they’re under a lot of pressure to make it great. From everything I can tell, it seems like it’s going to be spectacular.
Anyway, I just wanted to say, really, thank you, thank you, thank you for your thank yous and for your enthusiasm and all that you wrote. I’m also, for those people in the United States – because we did receive quite a few written responses from outside the United States — but for those who are in the United States, Once Upon A Time, big episode tonight on ABC at 8 o’clock (Editor’s note: 7 p.m. Central). I’m going to be live tweeting during the east and west coast broadcasts of it. If you find that you are around, and you want to join us and throw some questions in, I’d be happy to respond, say hey. But that’s tonight, 8 o’clock, ABC.
Anyway, more to come, I’m certain. Thank you. I’m very, very grateful for all the kind words that were sent my way. All right, signing off.
